The Indian trio of Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu, Adarsh Singh and Vijayveer Sidhu came up with a great combined show in the sports pistol event at the ongoing Junior World Cup as they finished 10 points ahead of their Chinese opponents. This helped the Indian team to clinch the yellow metal in the junior men’s category. The Indian team scored a total of 1738 points in the competition, while the Czech Republic claimed third spot with 1726 points.

However, they couldn’t bag a medal in the individual events, as Sandhu (582) was the best-placed Indian, finishing fourth.

Yash Vardhan, Hriday Hazarika and Paath Makhija failed to bag a team gold in the junior men 10m air rifle event and ended up at the second spot behind China. The Indian trio managed to shoot 1877.4 which was 0.4 points lesser than that of the Chinese shooters in the event. Hazarika was unable to finish on the podium as he could manage only a fourth spot finish in the individual category.

India is currently at the top of the medal tally with a total of 16 medals, which include seven gold, seven silver and two bronze medals. China are at second place with five gold, three silver and five bronze medals.
