Indian ace Anirban Lahiri will spearhead the Asian challenge along with compatriots S S P Chawrasia and captain Jeev Milkha Singh at the 2nd EurAsia Cup to be held at the Glenmarie Golf and Country Club, Malaysia from January 15-17.

Jeev Milkha Singh announced his team list including former captain Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand, SSP Chawrasia and Anirban Lahiri in the leading four. Singh also named Malaysian Nicholas Fung, China`s Wu Ashun, Prayad Marksaeng of Thailand and Korean Jeung Hun Wang as his captain`s picks to strengthen the Asian squad. Meanwhile, Shingo Katayama of Japan, Malaysia`s Danny Chia, Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand, and Korean duo of K.T. Kim and Byeong Hun An are the other players featured in the 12-man line-up.

"I am delighted to unveil my team which comprises a great mix of in-form golfers, established names and rising stars of the game in Asia," said Singh as quoted by IBNLive.

The last EurAsia Cup ended in a tie at 10-10 after an excellent show from both the sides. Singh expressed confidence in his team saying, "I believe we have assembled a very strong team capable of defeating Team Europe after the thrilling 10-10 draw in 2014. That will be our mission next month - to win the EurAsia Cup" according to Zee News.

Team Europe is captained by the Irish Darren Clarke and features Britain’s Danny Willet who stretched Rory-Mcllory in the season-long Race to Dubai. Victor Dubuisson and Ross Fisher, who starred at the Ryder Cup, were named along with Chris Wood, Andy Sullivan and Matthew Fitzpatrick to make up the English quintet. Ireland’s Shane Lowry, Bernd Wiesberger of Austria, Søren Kjeldsen of Denmark and Sweden’s Kristoffer Broberg make up the rest of the squad. Clarke needs to select two more members under the captain’s pick.

The two teams will lock horns and resume unfinished business from 15th-17th of January next year.
