After a decent outing for India on day 4 at Rio, all eyes will now be focused on the pairing of Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna, who will start their mixed doubles campaign on day 5. Deepika Kumari, on the other hand, will look to redeem herself in her individual Round of 64 outing in Archery.

Jitu Rai, who faced a disappointing exit in the final of the men's 10m air pistol event, will be back for his favorite 50m pistol event in the qualification round. He will have company from Prakash Nanjappa in this event, which will kickoff day 5 for India.

After the exit of Laxirani Majhi in the individual event, and the women's team before that, Bombayla Devi and Deepika Kumari will have their last opportunity to redeem themselves when they feature in their individual Round of 64 clash. Bombayla Devi was the most consistent Indian archer in the team event, and she perhaps represents India's best hope in this event at this point.

The Indian women's hockey team started their campaign with a valiant display against Japan but were brought to their knees in their next outing against Great Britain. They will now take on Australia, who have lost both their opening matches. If India can cause an upset in this game, they will remain in a good position to qualify for the next round.

Avtar Singh, India's sole representative in Judo, will also make his appearance today in the Round of 32 of Men's 90 kg category, while Sathish Sivalingam will feature in weightlifting. However, the spotlight today will be firmly on Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna, who had faced disappointing first round exits in the women's doubles and the men's doubles events respectively, as they take on Samantha Stosur and John Peers in the round 1 of the mixed doubles event.
