Abhinav Bindra has been included in the committee given the responsibility of preparing the blueprint for the country's success at the next three Olympics, the sports ministry announced today. Badminton coach Pullela Gopichand and Ex-Hockey captain Viren Rasquinha were also named in the task force.

India had sent more than 120 athletes to the Rio Olympics last year but returned with only two medals. Putting that behind, India's Sports ministry has constituted a task force to prepare a detailed action plan for the next three Games.

The committee has been assigned the task of preparing a report to be submitted in the next three months. The report will constitute short-term, medium-term and long-term measures for effective results in the 2020, 2024, and 2028 Games.

The other members of the committee are Hockey coach S Baldev Singh, DG Sports Authority of India Gujarat Sandeep Pradhan, Times Group Online chief editor Rajesh Kalra, School Sports Promotion Foundation Om Pathak, and Prof GL Khanna.

Former All-England Open Championship winner Gopichand has individually guided India to two Olympic medals having coached Saina Nehwal to a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics and helping PV Sindhu win silver at the Rio Olympics last year.

Former Indian Hockey skipper Viren Rasquinha was a part of the team that won the Junior Hockey World Cup in Australia in 2000. Rasquinha had captained the senior men's team and played 180 international matches in his career.
