Gaganjeet Bhullar had a mixed day at the British Open with the winds picking in the afternoon making things difficult as the Indian shot one-under 71 for a total of five-under 211 to be placed tied 32nd. Matt Wallace and Marcus Kinhult are in a different battle as they share the lead at 14-under.

Though Bhullar managed a lot of birdies on the third day of the British Masters golf tournament in Southport on Saturday, he also gave away quite a few of bogeys in his card. The only Indian to make the cut in the tournament could manage many 15 birdies in 54 holes and dropping 10 bogeys.

“My game is fine, it is just that the putting has been coming and going,” said Bhullar, who played his only Major at Turnberry, exactly 10 years ago in 2009, reported PTI.

“I have one more day to go, so hopefully I can make some move upwards. The birdies are coming in, but I need to avoid the bogeys. But I am feeling confident with my game,” Bhullar added.

Kinhult had begun the day at 10-under and two behind the leader and managed to shoot 68 to get to 14-under. His closest competitor, Wallace has played 47 bogey-free holes, managed to bogey 12th and doubled bogeyed 15th before fighting back for a birdie on 17th for the third successive day. He also got back to 14-under tying with Kinhult. Both are ahead of Richie Ramsay (71).

Ramsay had a double on 10th, and also had five birdies and three bogeys. He was alone at 12-under with Tommy Fleetwood (68) and Robert McIntyre (68) finishing at 11-under. Defending champion Eddie Pepperell (70) and Ross Fisher (74) were at nine-under.
