Harinder Pal Sandhu enters quarters of Victorian Open squash

Harinder Pal Sandhu entered the quarter-finals of the Victorian Open after a sparkling 11-5, 11-7, 11-7 straight sets victory over Qatar's Syed Azlan Amjad in the second round on Thursday. Sandhu will face Aussie Rhys Dowling, who he beat in the South Australian Open final last week, tomorrow.
Fresh from his success in Adelaide a few days ago, Harinder Pal Sandhu began his campaign on a bright note in the Victorian Open, a PSA world tour event by reaching the quarterfinal beating a Qatar player Syed Azlan Amjed 11-5, 11-7, 11-7 in the second round hereĀ on Thursday.
LateĀ on Wednesday, Sandhu, seeded four, had stopped Qualifer Jacob Ford of Australia in three straight games 11-7, 11-1, 11-8.
In the last eightĀ tomorrow, the Indian faces Rhys Dowling (Australia) whom he had beaten in the South Australian Open final in Adelaide.
Recently, the 28-years-old claimed his third PSA title in a row by beating home favourite Rhys Dowling 11-8, 12-10, 11-4 in the final of the South Australian Open.
Sandhu was a part of the Indian squad that won the gold medal at the 2014 Asian Games and heĀ has carried the momentum into other events as well.
