India’s squash contingent extended their brilliant run in the Asian Individual Squash Championship as Saurav Ghoshal and Johsna Chinappa won their respective matches to reach the semi-finals. While Ghosal beat Mohd Nafizwan Adnan, Chinappa defeated Tanvi Khanna.

India's top two, the men's top seed Saurav Ghosal and women's second seed Joshna Chinappa moved into semi-finals in their respective sections with a touch of class on Friday in the Asian Individual Squash Championship here.

Ghosal's was the last match of the day and the Indian had hardly anything extra to take care as he disposed of Malaysia's sixth seed Mohd Nafizwan Adnan in straight games 11-4, 11-4, 11-3 in just 34 minutes of play. Joshna on the other hand had a task in hand suppressing the enthusiastic Tanvi Khanna, her team mate 12-10, 13-11, 11-7.

Tanvi who had made impressive strides in the championship and played with lots of motivation, continued in that vein against her senior. Unforced errors undid much of her spirited fight but it must be said to her credit, Tanvi stretched Joshna in the first two games before losing them over tie-break points. That was the big positive for this Delhi girl but Joshna could not be denied her passage to the last four.
