Joshna Chinappa bows out of US Open squash in round 3

Indian female squash player Joshna Chinappa has lost her third-round game of the US Open Squash tournament and crashed out of the tournament being played in Philadelphia, USA. The Indian’s campaign at the world tour platinum event ended on Tuesday as she lost against the USA’s Amanda Sobhy.

Amanda Sobhy of the USA, who is ranked higher than Joshna Chanappa, had a great time on the court as she managed to get the better of the Indian in the third round match of the US Open Squash tournament in Philadelphia. Chinappa is now out of the world tour platinum event by losing 12-10, 11-6, 11-7 against the USA player. 

Chinappa lost all the three sets and bowed of the tournament which also ended India’s challenge in the competition as well. The Indian’s fight ended with the extended first game against Sobhy on Tuesday as she could not manage to raise the tempo of her game while on the mat. After putting up a good fight in the first, Chinappa lost the next two sets by 11-6 and 11-7 respectively.

It was only more than an hour that the American needed to get the better of Chianappa and qualify for the quarters as the only player from the host nation.
