Divya Satija breaks her national record of two years at Glenmark Nationals

Divya Satija managed to create yet another national record two years after she had first made that in the 50m butterfly event at the Prakash Tarun Pushkar pool. Another stunning display saw Maharashtra's Apeksha Fernandes bettering Karnataka's record-holder Saloni Dalal in women's 200m breaststroke.
The Prakash Tarun Pushkar pool has been quite lucky for the 23-year-old swimmer. After creating a national record on the same pool two years back, Satija did it again on Saturday at the 73rd Glenmark National senior aquatic championships
She got a good push from Karnataka's Nina Venkatesh and the girl from Faridabad broke her own National record in the process, clocking 28.33s. It was a whopping 31 seconds better than her previous effort as she clinched the gold. She has, consequently, made it to the Asian age-group meet, which would be beginning in Bengaluru from September 24.
“I was eighth last year. It's really the mindset, I was getting very nervous when it came to the national arena and I used to fumble in my races. This year, it was all about keeping the mind calm and it worked,” said Siva, reported the Hindu.
Apart from that, Apeksha Fernandes managed to stun Karnataka's record-holder and defending champion Dalal to win the women's 200m breaststroke title. Prior to that, Karnataka's S. Siva also clinched his maiden senior national gold, by finishing first in the tough men's 400m medley.
