Warriors, who until now were located at the base of log tables, moved up their position to the third spot with a 14-7 victory over the Empowerji Challengers on Tuesday. The foreign players of the Warriors helped achieve the victory in their favour, pushing Warriors up in the standings.

Before their match against Empowerji Challengers, Warriors were occupying the last position among the six teams of the UTT tournament. However, the match on Tuesday propelled them to the third position with 20 points after they crushed Challengers.

Currently, Dabang Smashers are leading the tournament with 31 points, following on their heels is RP-SG Mavericks with 24 points. With Warriors being on the third place, Maharashtra United are placed fourth with 20 points. Whereas, the last spot is shared by defending Champions Falcons TTC and Challengers with 15 points each.

Warriors win has been attributed to the foreign players of the team. Aruna Quadri, Chih Huan Chuang, Sofia Polcanova and Hana Matelova won their respective matches, hence embarking on a journey towards winning.

The mixed doubles match was conquered by Sharath Kamal and Sofia Polcanova, who defeated Arjun Ghosh and Lee Ho Ching 6-11, 11-10, 11-8. In the men's singles, Aruna Quadri beat Manav Thakkar by 3-0.

World no. 15 Chin Yuan caused an upheaval by crushing world no. 12 Simon Gauzy 11-7, 11-6, 11-8. In the women's Sofia Polcanova served her position by defeating Hungarian Georgina Pota 2-1. Hana Matelova established Warriors' win by uprooting Divya Deshpande 11-8, 11-7, 11-9, playing her first singles of the season.

The semifinals and finals of the UTT tournament would be played in Kolkata's Netaji Stadium, where we can only hope that the best team wins.
