Dabang Delhi pulled off a major upset as they defeated U Mumba by an 8-7 margin in a thrilling semi-final in New Delhi on Friday. Delhi's G Sathiyan and Bernadette Szocs set the tone for their aide by winning their respective singles outing and an impressive win in the mixed doubles encounter too.

The current season of the Ultimate Table Tennis tournament is turning out to be a real thriller as witnessed in the last match between Dabang Delhi and U Mumba. The Delhi franchise entered the semi-final as underdogs but did enough to pull off a stunning 8-7 win against favourites U Mumba on Friday in the national capital.

India top-ranked singles player G Sathiyan and Romania’s Bernadette Szocs starred for Delhi, as they put together a strong attacking display last night. The duo won their respective Singles by a 2-1 margin before they came together to take two more points in the mixed doubles encounter.

However, Sweden’s Jon Persson unexpectedly lost 1-2 to Indian youngster Manav Thakkar in a fast-paced encounter that brought U Mumba back into the match. At the death, Delhi required just one point to win the game and Krittwika Sinha Roy kept her calm and went on to win the final game against Sutirtha Mukherjee and seal a spot in the finals of this year's tournament.
