Novak Djokovic was warned for unsportsmanlike behaviour during his opening win over Austria’s Dominic Thiem in the ATP World Tour Finals in London on Sunday.

The Serbian world No 2 smacked a ball angrily towards his backroom staff seated courtside after losing the first set on tie-break that fortunately went over them and into an area that contained no seating.

It was the third instance this year that Djokovic has lost his composure on the court following the French Open, where his racquet slipped and struck a line judge during the quarterfinal against Tomas Berdych, and the Rome Masters, where he threw his racquet towards the crowd after the loss in the final to Andy Murray.

"You guys are unbelievable. You're always picking these kind of things," Djokovic replied when asked about his petulant behaviour at the post-match press conference. “I'm the only player that shows his frustration on the court? That's what you are saying?"
