Prajesh Gunneswaran has lost in the final qualifying round at ATP 250 in Munich to Dennis Istomin while Pranjala Yadlapalli finished as the runner up at $25,000 ITF event. The all-Indian pair of Arjun Kadhe and Vijay Sundar Prashanth went down to Dan Added and Michail Pervolarakis.

While the ATP 250 tour event was held at Munich Germany against India’s Prajnesh Gunnesswaran and Russia’s Dennis Istomin on April 28 (Sunday), the ITF $25,000 event was held at Andijan, Uzbekistan between Pranjala Yadlapalli and Kamilla Chernyshova.

Gunneswaran lost to Dennis Istomin 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 as the Asian Games bronze medalist earlier beat Alexander Erler 3-6, 7-6(5),7-5 in a two-and-a-half-hours scary survival. The world No 75 suffered a third straight defeat against Istomin as he had earlier lost to him at the Asian Games and the Australian Open wildcard playoffs.

Pranjala Yadlapalli went down in a topsy-turvy match at $25,000 ITF event in Andijan, Uzbekistan. The 20-year-old lost to Kamilla Chernyshova 6-0, 1-6, 3-6 to finish as the runner-up. It is notable that she was playing her first final of the season after returning from an injury.

At the first-ever Asian Tennis Tour Asian Ranking Men’s Tennis Championships in Mumbai, Ishaque Eqbal defeated Deaflympics bronze medalist Prithvi Sekhar Of Chennai 6-1,6-2 in the match lasting for just over an hour and lifted the inaugural trophy.
