Australian Open | Prajnesh Gunneswaran happy with maiden GS outing despite loss
Prajnesh Gunneswaran slumped to a 7-6 (9-7), 6-3, 6-3 defeat at the hands of America’s Francis Tiafoe in the first round of the Australian Open but claimed he played a good game overall. Gunneswaran, ranked 116th, was beaten by Tiafoe in a match that went on for almost two hours.
Indian tennis ace, Prajnesh Gunneswaran, was knocked out in the opening round of the Australian Open after he suffered defeat at the hands of American - Francis Tiafoe. The youngster beat Gunneswaran in straight sets by a scoreline of 7-6 (9-7), 6-3, 6-3 at Melbourne Park on Monday.
Gunneswaran, ranked at number 116 in the ATP rankings, was happy with the performance he put in against his higher ranked opponent yesterday as he revealed in a post-match interview with PTI. However, the Indian added that he struggled a bit with the sun which was evident in his performance on the court.
