Usain Bolt will announce the name of his first football team on Tuesday as the athlete looks at a major career shift after bidding goodbye to a glittering athletics career. Bolt had posted a short video on Twitter in which he stated that he would disclose the name of the club on February 27.

Bolt, who has won eight Olympic gold medals in his terrific career, has always wanted to play football professionally and he has never hidden the desire from the public. He has taken long strides towards fulfilling it and soon his fans could see the 31-year-old playing for a professional team, which Bolt will reveal today as he stated in his 10-second video.

"I've just signed for a football team! Find out for who it is one this Tuesday, February 27," Bolt had stated in the video which he posted on Twitter on February 25.

Bolt created world records for the 100m (9.58 seconds), the 200m (19.19 seconds), and the 4x100m relay (36.84 seconds) before he decided to retire from athletics following the 2017 World Championships. A huge fan of Manchester United, Bolt had earlier revealed about his plans of having a trial with Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund in March.

"One of my biggest dreams is to sign for Manchester United. If Dortmund say I'm good enough, I'll crack on and train hard. I've spoken to Alex Ferguson, and I told him he needs to put in a good word. He told me if I get fit and ready, he will see what he can do," Bolt was quoted as saying in January.
