Indian men finish eighth in FIBA Asia Basketball Championship 2015

India finished eighth in the 2015 FIBA Asia Basketball Championship for men in Changsha-Hunan, China, after going down to Qatar 58-84 in the 7th-8th place classification match. It was their third straight defeat after qualifying for the quarterfinals.
Qatar jumped to a 23-14 lead at the end of the first quarter, and extended the lead to 51-30 at half-time. India fared better in the second half, but not sufficiently enough to push Qatar, which rode on the early burst to finish seventh.
Arvind Arumugam turned out to be India’s top performer with 16 points and nine rebounds.
