Isle of Man International Chess Tournament | V. Anand registers a third win on Mixed Day for India

It was a mixed day for India at the Isle of the Man International Chess Tournament on Thursday as a Viswanathan Anand won his third victory and B. Adhiban held top seed Levon Aronian but, Abhijeet Gupta lost to Japenese- American chess grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura at the event.
Anand, playing in white, had a tough match against but eventually overcame his opponent in 72 moves. Adhiban also had a great day on the board as he managed to hold top seed Aronian for a draw in 31 moves. On the loss of the Bishop, Abhijeet resigned after 28 moves against the eighth seed Nakamura. While Anand and Sethuram both joined the 4.5 points to share the seventh spot, they will face each other in the next game.
Sethuram won to USA’s Gregory Kaidanov in King and Pawn endgame at 50 moves. Also, Harsha Bharathakoti had a draw against high seeded Emily Sutovsky and D Gukesh knocked out former woman world champion Alexandra Kosteniuk.
