Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra took to Twitter to express his views on Anil Kumble's resignation following a difference of opinion with Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Bindra suggested that he hated his coach Uwe Riesterer but stuck with him for 20 years a decision that "did him a world of good".
Anil Kumble stepped down as the Indian coach following a spat with Virat Kohli who reportedly was unhappy with Kumble's style of management of the National team.
The former leg-spinner's resignation from the post has attracted various reactions from former cricketers and most of them have criticised Kohli for maintaining a hostile stance towards the former coach. Abhinav Bindra, like the others, gave his take on the matter without actually mentioning the names of the concerned parties.
My biggest teachers was coach Uwe.I hated him!But stuck with him for 20 years. He always told me things I did not want to hear.#justsaying

Uwe Reister was a long-term part of Bindra's coaching staff and was there when he became the first Indian to win an individual gold medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and stayed with him till 2016 Rio Olympics where the shooter finished fourth in the 10m air rifle.
Badminton player Jwala Gutta seconded Bindra's views when she tweeted:
Sometimes that's the important part of training 🙈 I remember my sir doing the same...he still does it!!!
