India Blue have mounted a score of 263 runs on day one against India green at the NPR College Ground in Dindigul on Wednesday (29th August). The match carries a lot of importance as the winner of the game will earn a direct spot in the final of the Duleep Trophy against India Red.

Brief scores: India Blue 263/3 (Faiz Fazal 76, Dhruv Shorey 66*; Krishnamoorthy Vignesh 1-34) vs India Green

India Blue skipper Faiz Fazal opened the batting along with a new partner, Smit Patel and both of them held the gameĀ until the 31 overs of the first session and managed to build up a score of 111 runs.Ā

The second session turned out to be relatively unfortunate for India Blue as they lost both their opening batsmen in consecutive overs, just after both of them had managed to score fifties and started to build momentum for the team. India blue lost three wickets and the play was relatively slow. Just when another partnership threatened to flourish, Vikas Mishra was nipped out by Ganesh Satish just before dinner.Ā

However, India Blue started to dominate over the final session of the day when Dhruv Shorey, who had been consistent enough to score 95 and 45 runs in the previous games, carried on his form and raised his third half ton. Ricky Bhui provided a perfect partnership support to Shorey as both of them maintained an unbeaten partnership of 102 runs for the fourth wicket.Ā
