After Purnank Tyagi (5/33) produced a fine five-wicket haul for India U-19, Yashasvi Jaiswal took the responsibility on himself and amidst the flurry of dismissals, he led India U-19 to a one-wicket win. During India’s innings, Hamidullah Qadri took five wickets for 61 runs for England U-19.

In the last game of the third round of the tournament, India U-19 scraped to a hard-fought win against the hosts. Put into bat, England U-19 started on a very mediocre way and none of the top-order batsmen were able to stand grounds despite getting good starts on a regular basis. Amidst the carnage by Tyagi, George Hill was the only batsman to have taken some sort of responsibility as he top-scored with a composed 46 from 62 deliveries.

Hill was ably supported by tail-ender Nick Kimber whose 48-ball 37 was a big help as far as stretching England’s innings was concerned. Once the team reached 204, the onus was on their bowlers to restrict the Indian batsmen who were anyway hot and cold in the tournament so far. But Jaiswal was right on the money from the outset and mixed caution with aggression to compile a fine 78.

Meanwhile, others failed to compose any good score for the team and while Divyaansh Saxena scored a measured 33, his dismissal brought a heap of dismissals for India U-19. However, the target was not enough to threaten a loss and much to India’s joy, Sushant Mishra and Kartik Tyagi guided India to victory.
