The All-India Women’s Selection Committee met in Mumbai on Friday and named the Board President’s XI 15-member squad for the two upcoming warm-up games against South Africa Women. Wicketkeeper-batsman Sushma Verma has been named the captain of the squad for the matches that will be held in Surat.

While the selection committee is expected to announce Team India’s squad for South Africa on 5th September in Mumbai, the All-India Women's selection committee have announced a 15-member Board President's XI squad that will play two practice games in Surat, starting on September 20 against South Africa Women.

Right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper Sushma Verma was picked to lead the Board President's XI squad. Besides Verma, Devika Vaidya, Pooja Vastrakar and Priya Punia are the notable inclusions in the squad.

The India Women's team will be playing five T20Is and three ODIs against South Africa Women in Surat and Baroda respectively in the home series that will start later this year. While a few inclusions were based on the performances in the Women's T20 Challenge that went underway earlier this year, these couple of warm-up games would be the perfect platform for the young talents to showcase themselves ahead of the international series.

Board President's XI squad for the 2 warm-up games: Sushma Verma (Captain), Devika Vaidya (vice-captain), Vanitha VR, Shafali Verma, Priya Punia, Jasia Aktar, MD Thirushkamini, Madhuri Mehta, Tarannum Pathan, Sushree Dibyadarshini, Tanuja Kanwar, Bharti Fulmali, Mansi Joshi, Renuka Singh, Pooja Vastrakar
