BCCI inducted 17 new umpires in its panel for the next season

The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has inducted 17 new umpires in its current panel for the new season of Cricket in 2019-2020. After this addition, the count now stands at 126 umpires along with 71 match referees among the Indian Cricket board's appointed match officials.

The Indian Cricket board recently hosted a pre-season workshop for the match officials at the National Academy for Umpires (NAU) in Nagpur which spanned from August 6 to 23.  The aforementioned seminar was attended by several senior umpires like S Ravi, Anil Chaudhary, C Shamshuddin, Nitin Menon to name a few, and was led under the administration of ICC Umpires Educator Denis Burns.

An extended workshop for senior trainers was also conducted which was aimed at 'training the trainers'. In the said workshop, 15 Ex Umpires gave attendance, and the topics that were discussed in the seminar were Communication activities, Competency-based training, Monitoring & ICC Coaching and training activities.

An induction programme for the newly-qualified umpires to the BCCI Panel Umpires, a total of 17 members, was also carried out and the participants of this programme were briefed on diverse topics from managing the game, players, body language, to communication between on-field umpires & third Umpires and game control.
