Former Melbourne Renegades pacer Chris Tremain will return to Sydney Thunder in the upcoming season of the Big Bash League after penning a three-year deal with the franchise. He had won the title with Melbourne Renegades last season and also represented the Thunder for three years, from 2012-15.

Chris Tremain has played four ODIs for Australia thus far, but never quite managed to make the impact that he wanted to make. Despite primarily being a red-ball bowler, opportunities for the Victorian have been few and far between, but he believes that Syndey Thunder could give him the stage where he could express himself and perhaps make a case for himself for national team selection.

"I don't think my game has changed too much. I think I've changed quite a bit. I've played a lot more cricket; experienced a lot more. I've had a lot more success, and I've failed a lot more. I've had a career, basically," he said.

Tremain feels that in his first stint with Thunder, he could not impress a lot because he was very young and inexperience was something that was weighing him down.

"When I was at the Thunder last time, I was really young. I was still learning how to do things - not even cricket. Everything was really raw and full of youth," said Tremain.

Along with the likes of Chris Morris, the addition of Tremain has given Sydney Thunder bowling attack a different potent and dimension. Coach Shane Bond was extremely happy with the addition of Tremain.

"We just wanted a good, serious, hardened pro and I think he showed his value for the Renegades last season, opening the bowling through the back-end of the season," Bond said.

"He's just a solid performer day-in, day-out. He knows what he's doing, he's durable and he's a great guy around the team. He just brings that experience that we were missing a little bit last season," he signed off.
