On the direction of the CoA, OCA has issued a notice to all the full members including international cricketers from Odisha to send their authorised representatives to participate in the Special General Body Meeting on Friday. OCA will conduct its election on September 28, after the CoA directives.

As a matter of fact, 20 clubs, five colleges, and 10 schools from Cuttack, 30 districts, Bhubaneswar Cricket Association, Paradeep Port, KIIT, Rourkela Steel Plant, and East Coast Railway used to enjoy the voting rights of the association. While the proceedings are still uncertain, there's also some conundrum regarding the voting rights of the clubs, schools, colleges and legacy units but it is sure to bring back many old foes going against each other. Meanwhile, SportsCafe understands that the Odisha Cricket Association haveĀ set theĀ Special Governing Body meeting on 27 September 2019, a day before the election.

The issue has been released to all affiliated full members of Odisha Cricket Associations including Debasis Mohanty, Shiv Sundar Das and Sanjay Raul - the three International male cricketers hailing from the state - to send their authorised representatives to participate in the Special General Body Meeting in accordance with the Lodha Committee recommendations.Ā

A source close to SportsCafe informed that theĀ draft electoral roll and disposal of objections will be published on September 13 and 14 and the final electoral roll will be published on September 15. As per the information, September 20 will see all nominations being filed and that will be scrutinised on September 22 by the Electoral officerĀ M.L. Majumdar.Ā

As a matter of fact, the reign of Ashirbad Behera as secretary of the association had come to an end in early 2017, and there are several contestants secretly lobbying for the secretary and president position which has remained vacant ever since Behera and former India U-19 captain Ranjib Biswal, who also acted as the Indian team manager for the 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy, resigned from their positions of secretary and president respectively. Now, the lobby has become stronger in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar and it is almost certain that the positions of president and the honorary secretary would go to the bag of the Twin City.
