Family dominance continues as Pranav Amin, Arun Dhumal elected presidents of Baroda and HP associations

Keeping in line with former big bosses picking their sons or daughters for the post of presidents, Pranav Amin, Arun Dhumal have been elected presidents of Baroda and HP state associations. Meanwhile, Sanjay Benhera and Ajit Lele have been elected as secretaries of Odisha and Baroda.

After Rupa Gurunath and Jaydev Shah have led the associations with fresh wins in the state association elections, the trend of former bosses backing their sons and daughters have moved further north and east. While Pranav Amin, son of former IPL chairman Chirayu Amin, has been elected as the president of the Baroda Cricket Association, while Ajit Lele, the son of former BCCI secretary Jaywant Lele, has won the elections for the post of secretary in the same association.

Earlier yesterday, Arun Dhumal, who is the brother of former BCCI president Anurag Thakur, was elected as the president of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association. The AGM happened on expected lines and considering all angles that might come with it, former Himachal CM Prem Kumar Dhumal's younger son could be a strong contender for a plum post in the BCCI - either as an office-bearer or as a member of the all-important Apex Council during BCCI AGM on October 23.

In Odisha, Pankaj Lochan Mohanty was elected as the president, Akshaya Kumar Samant as vice president, Mehtab Khan as joint secretary and Bikash Pradhan as treasurer, and Sanjay Behara - son of former secretary Ashirbad Behera - has been elected as the secretary of OCA. With that, the power centre is bound to lie with the Ashirbad-led group ahead of the BCCI elections.
