Cristiano Ronaldo: I have been the biggest influence on my own career

Cristiano Ronaldo has declared that he looks up to himself the most and requires his haters in order to push himself further after the Real Madrid forward was booed by his club’s fans last week.
"When I was younger I looked at Portuguese players like Figo and Rui Costa, and saw how they were performing on the biggest stage – and I knew I wanted to reach that level," Ronaldo told Coach Magazine.
Real Madrid's all-time top scorer with 324 goals, Ronaldo also said there is no bigger inspiration to him than himself.
"But my biggest inspiration has always been myself; nobody puts bigger demands on me than me.
"I said I admired Figo and Rui Costa, but I never wanted to emulate anybody – I have just always focused on being the best me I can.
“I have been the biggest influence on my own career."
The Portugal international has endured a difficult start to the 2016-17 campaign, scoring just 4 goals in 9 matches, and was booed by Real fans after failing to find the net in a 2-1 La Liga win over Athletic Bilbao.
Ronaldo is of the opinion that negative experiences only help him to achieve more.
"You have to use negative people and experiences to motivate you.
I actually need my haters, they have helped me achieve all I have achieved."
