Atletico Madrid have identified Leicester's midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as the ideal replacement for Rodri, who joined Manchester City last July. The 22-year-old arrived at Leicester in 2017 from Genk, for near €18 million and scored 2 goals in 38 appearances in the Premier League last season.

According to Legit, Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Nigerian international midfielder Wilfred Ndidi. The Spanish giants have considered the 22-year-old from Leicester as the ideal replacement for Rodri, who joined Manchester City at the start of July.  Ndidi arrived at the Premier League in 2017 from KRC Genk, with Leicester paying almost €18 million for the defensive midfielder.

He had an impressive campaign so far with the Foxes, being crowned the best tackler in the league for the second straight time, ahead Idrissa Gueye who joined Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Ndidi, who won a bronze medal at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, is valued at €35 million according to the Transfermarkt.

Simeone's team continues to be very active in the marketing, trying to build a team capable to fight Barcelona and Real Madrid for the La Liga.  The Colchoneros already signed Portuguese wonderkid Joao Felix, Felipe, Hector Herrera, Marcos Llorente, Renan Lodi, Kieran Trippier, Mario Hermoso and Ivan Saponjic from Benfica's secondary team.
