January is the time for me to leave, admits Yannick Carrasco

Despite being one of Dalian Yifang’s best players over the last two years Yannick Carrasco has admitted that he is ready to leave China. The 26-year-old was linked with a move to Arsenal and Bayern Munich over the summer but no move materialized and the Belgian is looking for a move in January.
Once considered to be one of the brightest prospects in world football, Yannick Carrasco’s career has not gone according to plan. The Belgian’s move to Atletico Madrid saw him play some of the best football of his career flourishing under Diego Simeone. But a fallout with the Argentine saw Carrasco leave for China in February of 2018 and he has become one of Dalian Yifang’s best players. Yet the Belgian has been heavily linked with a move back to Europe after admitting towards the end of last season that he wants to play European football again.
Both Arsenal and Bayern Munich came very close to making a move both in January of 2019 and in the summer window but both clubs opted to sign other players. Reports later added that Carrasco's wages plus Dalian Yifang's transfer demands proved too much for Arsenal in January but Bayern had the Belgian as option number two behind Philippe Coutinho. But Carrasco is still looking for that move back and in a recent interview the 26-year-old went on to admit as such. He even added that life in China is much harder than he excepted but it’s the football in Europe that he misses and wants the club to let him leave in January.
"I can forget everything on the pitch, but life as a foreigner is difficult there. In the previous transfer period it was difficult for the club to let me go. Now the situation is different. I hope that if there is something concrete this winter, I can leave. Life is just harder for me. The city is difficult for foreigners. My wife lived here with me for a full year. She wants to open a business and is busy with it. If you are married, you also want to be with your wife. Now I often sleep alone when I get home. That's a bit difficult,” said the Belgian reports ESPN.
