Reports | Manchester United fly scouts to Portugal to check two potential targets

Manchester United have sent scouts to Benfica’s clash against Braga to check on two potential transfer targets ahead of the January window. The Red Devils were not the only ones there, however, with representatives from France, Spain, Italy and other Premier League sides all in attendance.

After a summer of heavy speculation, Manchester United ended their window by getting rid of Alexis Sanchez, Chris Smalling, Matteo Darmian and even Antonio Valencia amongst others. They somehow managed to keep Paul Pogba and David De Gea at the club, reinforcing their team with the additions of Harry Maguire, Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

While many believe it won’t be enough to help the club survive a top-four battle, it does not look like the Red Devils are even close to done with their transfer business reports the Mirror. The reports further added that the Premier League giants sent scouts to Portugal to watch Benfica’s clash against Braga to check two potential transfer targets.

Further reports indicate that the two targets just happen to be Ruben Dias and Florentino Luis, two of Benfica’s brightest talents. The 22-year-old Dias has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the past, while Luis made his breakthrough for the Eagles last season. He has since managed to establish himself as a part of the first team, playing a key role in the win over Braga.

However, the Mirror further adds that the Red Devils were not the only club in attendance, with representatives from Olympique Lyon, Sevilla, Celta Vigo, Atalanta and Norwich City all watching.
