Defending Durand Cup champion Gokhulam Kerala FC have signed Trinidad & Tobago player Nathaniel Garcia for their upcoming I-League season from Point Fortin Civic FC. Garcia would be the third player to join Gokulam Kerala from Trinidad and Tobago after the likes of Marcus Joseph and Andre Ettienne.

A 26-year-old midfielder, Garcia has shown that he was comfortable with playing as a centre half as well and could come in handy for Kerala in the upcoming I-League season. After being demoted to the second tier of the national football, Gokhulam Kerala have been building up an impressive side for the season.

Amongst the big names, Gokhulam have brought in winger Malemnganba Meetei, fullback Sebastian Thangmuansang, attacking midfielder Bruno Pelissari, custodian Lalit Thapa, and forward Lalliansanga. And the import of Garcia would only make them stronger.

Garcia had left Central FC back in 2017 before he decided to join Point Fortin Civic FC. Making his international debut back on March 26, 2018, Garcia has gone on to earn two caps for his country. He would be the third player from Trinidad and Tobago to join Gokulam Kerala and has been known for his versatility in the defensive third.

Gokulam Kerala FC would be approaching the I-League after upsetting Mohun Bagan 2-1 to lift the 129th Durand Cup in their debut campaign in August.
