Kabaddi World Cup | England moves to third after beating Argentina

England got the better of Argentina in a one-sided encounter to winning by a margin of 40 points climbing to third position in the table just a point off India. Poland, on the other hand, secured their first win of the tournament by a scoreline of 75-29 over the United States of America.

Group A

England put up a spirited show against Argentina in the first game of the day claiming victory by a margin of 68-28. Even though they opened the scoring in the very first raid, Argentina never looked comfortable a the English piled up the pressure by taking a lead of 24 points by the end of the first half.

England continued their dominance in the second half with Keshav Gupta(10), Someshwar Kalia(13) and Tope Adewalure (19)all scoring in double digits. The result cemented third place on the table for England and a chance of qualifying for the semi-finals should India slip up.

Group B

Poland thrashed the United States of America by a colossal margin of 75-29, the highest points total in the tournament so far, to secure its first win in the tournament.  Although by losing their first three matches the European country is almost out of the contention for a spot in the knock outs, this victory came as a solace for them. Skipper Michal Spiczko starred in the game with total of 16 points.

Today's matches will see Group A table toppers Korea take on Australia while hosts India will lock horns with Argentina in a bid to go to the top of the table.

In Group B, Iran take on Japan in a contest where two unbeaten teams will battle it out for top spot.
