Jaipur Pink Panthers’ coach Srinivas Reddy said that the reason for their loss was the errors made by the defence at crucial moments. He also talked about how the defenders failed to execute strategies that were in place against Pardeep Narwal and ended up giving him multiple points during the game.

Despite both the corners getting 8 tackle points, Jaipur Pink Panthers were not able to control the opposition raiders as expected. They held off an all-out for a long time and even when got all-out the opposition was still behind one point. It was in the end moments they faltered and hence Patna won the match.

“In some crucial moments, our defence made a couple of errors. And that cost us the game,” Srinivas Reddy said in the post-match press conference.

No one in the starting 7 scored more than six points and even the highest scorer in the raiding unit was Sushil Gulia who scored 8 points in 5 successful raid attempts. Skipper Deepak Niwas Hooda was not far behind as he scored 5 points in 10 raid attempts. The point of concern for the Panthers was he stayed off the mat for a long time due to getting out in defence 4 times.

In defence, Sandeep Dhull scored 5 tackle points in the match while the other corner Amit Hooda scored 3 tackle point. Patna Pirates raiders Pardeep Narwal and Jang Kun Lee got the better of Panthers defence as the defenders failed to execute their strategies.

“We had planned to hold a deep line against him to lure him in but some of our defenders weren’t able to execute that plan and gave away multi-points raids,” Reddy said about their strategy against Pardeep.

"Not really. He’s a veteran (Jang Kun Lee) in this league. He is one of the most successful players as well. So we definitely weren’t surprised by how well he played,” Reddy said when he was asked if he was surprised by Jang Kun Lee’s performance.

Jaipur Pink Panthers are currently at the sixth position and if they want to move upwards they will look forward to winning their upcoming matches.

“We have to win in order to qualify. Victory is imperative. We'll see how it goes,” Reddy concluded.
