Indian mixed trap team disappoints at ISSF Shotgun World Championships

India had a disappointing outing in mixed team trap event at the ISSF Shotgun World Championship in Moscow with the pairs of Zoravar Singh-Seema Tomar and Kynan Chenai-Sreyasi Singh finishing at the 24th and 33rd spot respectively. India will now look at the men’s and junior’s events for a medal.

In the Mixed Team Trap competition, Sandhu and Tomar combinedly shot 90 out of 100 in qualification to finish 24th, while Chenai and Sreyasi shot a total of 86 hits to end at the 33rd position at the Fox Lodge Shooting Range in Moscow. 

The event was won by Australian pair of Penny Smith and Thomas Grice, who defeated Spain’s Beatriz Martinez and Antonio Bailon 33-32 in the final to secure the gold medal. USA’s Ashley Carroll and Derek Haldeman finished at the third position winning their Bronze medal match 41-38 against Catherine Skinner and Jack Wallace of Australia.

Among the remaining Indians in the event, Ankur Mittal, Mohammad Asab, and Sangram Dahiya will compete in the Men’s event, while Shapath Bharadwaj, Ahvar Rizvi, and Shardul Vihan will represent in the Junior Men’s event. Both the finals are slated to be played today.
