The advent of T20 cricket has forced every player to invent innovative shots that could fetch them more runs with minimum effort, but executing them to perfection isn’t easy. Rashid Khan learnt it the hard way when his failed attempt to clear the fence with a DilScoop left Jos Butler in splits.

The Big Bash League has always been known for its innovativeness and the show the players put on year after year. But, today, Rashid Khan had something special in his mind. He tried to pull off one of the most commonly used shots in T20 cricket - the DilScoop - but showcased why he will never be considered to be an all-rounder in world cricket.

It was the last ball of the 19th over when 19 year old came into bat and Sandhu bowled a slower ball outside off which the Afghan tried to Scoop over Jos Buttler - an expert in the shot himself. However what followed left the English wicketkeeper with a huge smile on his face.

Rashid’s movement towards the off stump was perfect, he went down to his knees like a pro but then he hilariously lost his balance and fell over backwards and ended up on his back. Seeing this everyone either cracked a smile and burst out laughing including the batsman himself.

However, the Afghan star wiped the smile of the opposition’s face in the last over as he hit death over specialist Mitchell McClenaghan for two huge sixes in the final over to guide his side to a respectable score of 158/7 in the allotted 20 overs.

He, then, went on to claim two wickets in his four overs while giving away just just 21 runs to secure a 25 run win for the Strikers over the Thunder.
