As the saying goes hindsight is 20/20 but when it comes to football rarely does an opinion last more than a weekend unless it genuinely has some point to make. That being said after an action packed weekend of overzealous fans in the Premier League, there were bound to be a few nonsensical debates.

Marcus Rashford is Manchester United’s new superstar

Two goals in two games, performances against two of the Premier League’s big six and it has seen the interweb claim that Marcus Rashford is Manchester United.

SC's Take : Marcus Rashford is beyond talented. That has never been without doubt no matter what Twitter’s haters say. However, at the age of 22 being asked to carry this Manchester United side without Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and basically anyone good enough to help him do things. Even the worst United side under Sir Alex Fergusson had someone to help them out but with Martial back, Fred showing some sign of consistency and a supporting cast, Rashford has been exceptional. So yes, he is their superstar but he’s no Cristiano Ronaldo.

It’s Liverpool and Leicester City’s title to lose

Manchester City are 14 points off Liverpool and six points off Leicester City which means that it’s a battle between the Foxes and the Reds.

SC's Take : This is beyond an overreaction and yet it’s become a theme. Who on earth in this day and age forgets about Pep Guardiola and his super Manchester City side? The same side that became the first team to hit a 100 points, beat Liverpool comfortably to the title last season despite almost seven points separating them at one stage and yes the same side who won the men’s first domestic treble. Yes, they spent billions all the while and as many people tend to forget they still have billions more to spend in the January window.

And that’s when Aymeric Laporte comes back from his knee injury with Bayern Munich man Leroy Sane on his way back around the same time. Crisis, says who?

Chelsea need a cash injection

Just one win in their last three games, losses to Everton, West Ham, Manchester City and their defensive frailties plus their transfer ban being lifted has called for an intense money spend.

SC's Take : Chelsea have looked frail. They have looked vulnerable defensively and their front-line does seem a tab overly dependent on Tammy Abraham and moments of magic from Christian Pulisic and co. But that has been the case for the last four months and yet the call for a cash injection has only started after Chelsea’s transfer ban was lifted.

Coincidence?

The end of Eddie Howe and Bournemouth

A month since their last win, five losses in their last five games and they sit a point above the relegation zone, add that to Eddie Howe’s links to Everton and you have the end.

SC's Take : Bournemouth are in trouble. Maybe not as much as Arsenal, Manchester City, West Ham, Everton, Chelsea, Southampton, Watford are in but they are in trouble. One point off the relegation zone and this might just be the end of Howe. Howe did this all happen? It started with injuries and ends with links to Everton. But this is an unceremonious end to what should have been a fitting send off for a club legend.
