India couldn’t manage to retain the men’s team snooker title at the World Cup as they were beaten by neighbouring Pakistan in the summit clash which was played on Tuesday in Doha, Qatar. The Indian team, comprising of Pankaj Advani and Laxman Rawat, lost 1-3 against the arch-rivals.

The dream of claiming back-to-back titles at the snooker World Cup was not fulfilled for the Indian team as Pakistan managed to beat them in the final. After taking the lead in the first two frames, Pakistan won the fourth one as well to seal the final encounter.

Pankaj Advani and Laxman Rawat had bounced back in the contest as they managed to win the third frame which was a doubles match. Earlier in the final, India had a terrible start as both of them lost the first two against the Pakistani cueists Asjad Iqbal and Muhammad Bilal.

Earlier in the tournament, India came back from a poor stage to beat Ireland 3-2 in the semi-final battle. On the other hand, Pakistan had beaten the home side Qatar 3-1 to make it to the final.

Last week, the Pakistani team comprising Babar Masih and Zulfiqar Qadir had got the better of the Indians 3-2 in the summit clash of the Asian team snooker championship in Doha.
