Gaganjeet Bhullar jumped five places from his day one position of tied 11 to finish tied 6 at the halfway stage of the Andalucia Masters in Spain. Bhullar shot a par 71 following his first round score of 68 (-3), remaining the only Indian other than Shiv Kapur to make the halfway cut.

SSP Chawrasia and Shubhankar Sharma, the other Indians at the tournament, missed out leaving Bhullar and Kapur, at tied 55th spot, to see round three. Although he shot a par 71 in round two, following a 68 (-3) in the first round, Bhullar climbed five places to finish at tied sixth. Kapur, on the other hand, shot a 70 (-1) to follow up his score of 74 (+3) in the first round.

Bhullar had a tough start to proceedings in the second round. He shot a bogey on the 2nd and 10th hole, before immediately recovering with a birdie on the 11th. After pulling another bogey on the 15th, the 31-year old pulled things back with two successive birdies on the 17th and 18th.

Meanwhile, South African Christiaan Beziudehout continued his fine run, carding a 68 (-3) to add to his overnight score of 66 (+5). At the halfway stage, his overall score of 8-under par put him four shots clear of his rival and defending champion Sergio Garcia.

On a day where most golfers struggle at the Real Club Valderrama, only Beziudehout seemed to flourish. He came through with four birdies on the 1st, 8th, 10th, and 17th hole respectively, with only one bogey on the 7th. Garcia, however, finished with a score (-4) under par, having shot 72 (+1) on the day. Three others are also chasing Beziudehout, having finished tied 2nd with an aggregated (-4) under par in round 2.
