Shubhankar Sharma carded an unimpressive 73 on the final day to finish tied 40th while compatriot SSP Chawrasia wasted his first three good days to end tied 48th at the Open de France Golf Championship. It was Nicolas Colsaerts of Belgium who bagged the title at the Le Golf National course.

Chawrasia, who needed a good day four, wasted a good start — with two doubles — to finish with a double bogey and a bogey in his final few holes to have a below-par round of 76, slipping to T-48th position. On the other hand, Shubhankar had four doubles, a quadruple, and a double bogey to card in a 73 and finish in the 40th position in Paris, France.

Meanwhile, Colsaerts (72) went on to claim his first European Tour title in seven years at the Le Golf National. His card of one-over-par 72 in the final round was enough for him to hold on to a gripping one-shot victory over Denmark's Joachim B Hansen — who shot 68. Having had his stock fall significantly since his last triumph at the 2012 Volvo World Match Play Championship, he had begun the week on 114th position on the European Tour's Race to Dubai and in danger of losing his card.
