Gujarat Titans defeated Delhi Capitals on Saturday to register their second win of IPL 2022 as they solidified their position on the points table. The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals batted poorly against their opponents and this is the second time in the tournament that their top-order collapsed.

Gujarat Titans defeated Delhi Capitals comfortably to register their second win of IPL 2022. For the Titans, Shubman Gill and Lockie Ferguson were the stars with bat and ball and made sure that Delhi were on the back foot throughout the game. Shubman Gill's 84 powered his side to reach 171 in 20 overs which proved to be match-winning. Lockie Ferguson, on the other hand, rattled the Delhi batters as he took 4 wickets in the game to make sure his side had no problems in winning the game.

Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant was the lone warrior with the bat as he tried to go after Gujarat's score. Pant scored 43 from 29 balls but it just wasn't enough as DC collapsed after Pant's dismissal. During the post-match presentation, Rishabh Pant while speaking to Star Sports said, “I think according to the wicket that total was not so big. We could have batted well, especially in the middle overs, we lost three wickets in the powerplay and three in the middle. I think every match is going to be hard after losing so many wickets”.

Pant while talking about his team composition and weather conditions said, “Depending on the weather conditions (we will decide to bat or bowl first), but we are not thinking about that now and we will see when we come back to Pune.”

He praised Ricky Ponting saying, “He (Ponting) has been amazing since day one. When you lose you feel heartbroken but at the end of the day if you keep improving and have a better environment then people can perform in the next match.”
