Over 5000 athletes from all over the country congregated in Madhya Pradesh from January 30 to February 11 for the Khelo India Youth Games 2023. Maharashtra won the fifth Khelo India Youth Games, which had a total of 161 medals awarded, including 56 gold medals over the last few days.

On Day 12 of the Khelo India Youth Games 2022 Madhya Pradesh, the host team defeated Odisha 3-2 in boy's hockey at the M.P Womens Academy in Gwalior, and Manipur weightlifter M. Martina Devi won gold in the girls' 81kg+ division on Friday by shattering three national youth records.

Haryana girls decimated Odhisha in the hockey final while two of their boys -- judoka Anil and swimmer Harsh Saroha -- clinched gold to keep the hosts ahead in the Khelo India Youth Games 2021. Haryana’s 4-1 gold efforts were etched out by captain Sonam and Kanika Siwach and Gurmail Kaur.

A half-time pep talk and a change in tactics helped underdogs Tamil Nadu upset Haryana in a stunning 3-2 come from behind victory, storming into the girl's football final of Khelo India Youth Games. They will face Jharkhand who blanked Gujarat 3-0 in the other semi-final through first-half goals.
