Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergea lost to Alexander Peya (Austria) and Bruno Soares (Brazil) 4-6, 6-1, 10-8 in 62 minutes at the Swiss Indoors in Basel on Monday for their second straight men’s doubles first round exit after the Vienna Open last week.

The Indo-Romanian pair won the opening set comfortably, but lost the second after being broken twice. Peya and Soares proved superior in the super tie-break decider as they avenged the loss suffered in the Stuttgart Open final in June.
