This day makes fans happy whilst also making people tear their hair up at the same time. But the fun part is that they now have players who they can call theirs. KKR signed Pat Cummins and Eoin Morgan, while RCB snapped up Aaron Finch, Chris Morris and Josh Phillippe. And not to forget, CSK have Piyush 'the hero' Chawla with Sai Kishore. Basically, it was covering the bases and almost every team did that to perfection!

But what I am really surprised about is Shahrukh Khan. How did the Tamil Nadu player go unsold this year? He made all the right noises coming into the IPL and it is really surprising that he failed to find a bid!

IPL auction, like every year, hasn't failed to surprise us and that's the beauty of the tournament. Teams are set and that, itself, promises a cracker as we wait for the season to begin in late March.

Often compared to Steve Smith for both his looks and his style of batting, Josh Philippe has been making quite a name for himself within the Australian ranks. Tighten your seat belts. for it is going to be one crazy session. And trust me when I say it, it will be FAST!  It's not called the 'Accelerated process' for no reason!

The upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will see a new set of rules being implemented with the latest addition being the allowance of inter-team loans between capped players. The rule is extended to the loans of both Indian and overseas players participating in the tournament.

So, Chennai's R Sai Kishore, after having the kind of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy he had, was expected to trigger a bidding war but him going unsold was one of the biggest shocks from the afternoon session. 

Shahrukh Khan at 20L did also seem like a pretty value-for-money buy, so him going unsold was also kind of surprising. 

As far as overseas players are concerned, the usual suspects did manage to find teams, but I felt that the trio of  Tim Southee, Colin Ingram and Evin Lewis were particularly unlucky to have not found a team.

Either way, with teams set to re-submit the list of unsold players in the accelrated process that will start in around 15 mins time, it will be interesting to see if all the aforementioned players do make the cut.
