Full Time

A mammoth win for Bengaluru! Especially given that they didn't have Miku and Erik Paartalu for the match. Goa were the better side in terms of chance creation but Bengaluru took their chances. It's a mystery why Bedia was not introduced earlier as he made some quick chances as soon as he came on. He missed a glorious chance too, though. However, Bengaluru would ride high on Chhetri's timely winner that takes them level on points with Goa on 16 points.

Another chance goes begging for Goa!
Manvir Singh goes past Serran and Bheke but hits the ball wide from inside the box! Bheke should be credited here though. He puts in the pressure!

Goa on the counter here and Coro puts in  a sureshot goal pass for Hugo inside the box. He misses it. Unbelievable. They will be kicking themselves for it!

Chance for Goa!

Fall with a delightful pass for Bedia inside the box! He is unmarked but the player decides to give it a clumsy touch with his weake foot. That was a great chance and this is where Bedia and Chhetri differ. One takes his chances everytime/

Goa have chance and Bengaluru would be ruing the wasted chances if they conceded here!

Bengaluru are just keeping the ball in the dying minutes. Very shrewd of them.
And they get another big chance!
Xisco's pass to Chhetri sees the skipper turning well before shot is blocked by Seriton. His second one is closer and the ball hits the crossbar and comes off!

With Bedia finally in, Goa would finally get chances for sure. But, the time is against them and they have to take evey possible opening. 

Jahouh gives away the ball again! It falls to Khabra who takes a shot and the ball is high and wide! Pathetic attempt!

Goa on the attacl again but Nishu Kumar clears it. Goa reorganize again and attack but Coro is flagged offside.

Semboi puts some pace in late hours but Goa are alerted just in time. Not many changes in the squads despite the two red cards for each teams.

Bengaluru look like they are go for the draw. They don't throw man up top with Miku absent.

Replays suggest Jackichand was offside! We need VAR in ISL given the quality of refereeing here!
Meanwhile, the game has found a renewed tempo all of a sudden.

Another chance for Bengaluru!

Bheke with a nice ball from the middle and Semboi is alone up front with no one to mark him. He hits the side netting!

Bengaluru try to hold the ball in Goa's third and it almost paid off! Chhetri puts in a ball for Nishu Kumar who had a clear chance to score as Nawaz was in two minds! But, eventually, Nishu wastes it!

Goa are trying to explore the acres of space behind BFC's full backs. But, that would have worked if the players had deft first touches. Sorry, No Iniesta's here and hence, we only see corners and throws from such situations.

Chance for Goa!

Jackichand weighs in a marvellous flaoting ball inside the box where Coro is standing to finish it. But, Bheke comes to BFC's rescue.

Goa have level field now but can they get the all important equalizer here?

Gurpeeet puts in marvellous ball on the right for Udanta, who seemed destined to scoe. But, his cross in intercepted by Jahouh!

Chencho almost lunges over Seriton. Sure yellow but the ref leaves it! What am i seeing here! Chencho escapes with only an apology. 

Coro crashes into Serran as he tries to get the ball. He is down and BFC stops the play. Good gesture.

Hugo elbows Xisco on his chin and he is booked! Goa are making things difficult for themselves.

Goa get a rare opportunity in the attacking third but Seriton's cross is stopped by Bengaluru defence at the edge of the box. 

Atricious tackle on Udanta by Lenny. That was deservingly of a yellow! But, the ref holds himself. Bengaluru players protest and in the meantime Xisco takes it the kick. The ref is not happy and Xisco gets booked.

Bengaluru tries putting in a long ball after Delgado passes it back fom the corner. But, Goa defend it well. From the next corner, Goa clear it upfield without any problem.

Red card for Mohammad Ali!

After failing to reach the ball, Ali stops his with his hand. What a calamity. He must be out of his mind!

Carlos Pena puts in a lofted through ball from the left to the middle. Coro, who makes his run between Cerran and Juanan almost gets the ball but Gupreet comes fast and they both crash.

Second Half!

Bengaluru kicks us off this time and they play it back but the ball is quickly released for Chencho on the left flank. But, it was too much to ask from him and he loses the ball fast.

Half Time

Bengaluru lead here despite the early wave of attack by Goa! The hists have been wasteful, which was initiated by Hugo who missed an easy chance early in the half. However, since then, Bengaluru have been clinical in their approach, marking the spaces well and eevn without Miku, have kept the pressure on. The second half will see all the stalwarts getting introduced!

Jahouh and Xisco clash and the decison goes for the visitors. Xisco takes it hoping Chhetri would be there, but the skipper is nowhere near it! Nawaz collects it and the ref blows the whistle!

Two minutes added!

Goa need a creator up top, and we know for a fact that Bedia needs to be introduced here. The best they can do is go into the half time trailing by one goal.

Bheke hits bar!
Horrendous defending by Goa as Fall's layoff falls for Bheke inside the box. He takes an attempt first time and the ball hits the crossbar! 

Xisco with another cross from the right flank here. It almost finds Udanta who doesnt move fast and Mourtada Fall clears it for a corner. Bengaluru cannot do much from the setpiece.

Delgado gets the ball from Jahouh and tries to release Chhetri on the left flank. But, the captain gives up assuming it was already out of challenge.

Jackichand does well to win the ball at the attacking third with ball hitting Bengaluru defender and going south. However, Jacki, with all his peed, fails to reach it. Goalkick for Bengaluru.

Offside Coro!

Coro gets an almost perfect longball from Brandon from the halfway line but the ref flags him offside. He is three seconds late though!

Xisco is called out now for an unncesessary foul on Brendon at Goa's defensive third. The ref warns him!

The full back fouls Xisco from behind. Just a product of frustration I think.

Goal Bengaluru!

Delgado's corner is attempted at Xisco outside the box whose attempt nowhere near qualifies as a shot. However, Rahul Bheke at the far flicks it in out of nowehere! Cheeky!

Chance for Bengaluru!
Udanta Singh crosses the ball but Xisco inside the box cannot collect it.

Delgado's corner fall to Serran in the middle of the box, but the defender miscues his shot. The ball then falls to Xisco, who hits it wide!

Quick reflexes by Chhetri!

Jahouh's clumsiness at the de of his penalty box sees the Indian skipper winning the ball easly before he takes a left footed shot! However, Nawaz holds on to it.

Coro knows he has to do something different to get a goal and he has been allover the attacking third here. However, Bengaluru's congested defence has kept them at bay till now.

Bengaluru would have to do something about Goa's longballs here. They have been caught offguard on numerous occasions and if not for Goa's wastefulness, the hosts would have been two goals up easily.

Jahouh with a brilliant through ball for Seridon inside the box! But, the full back looked afraid of the incoming goalie and stops in his tracks. Coro isnt' happy!

The linesman with a bad decision here! Coro's pass to Jackichand saw the Indian some two yards on side, but the ref thought differently. No protests from Goa as such.

Goa tries to play wall within their defenisve half and BFC shows urgency to get to it. Concedes a throw as a result. Replacing Miku, Chencho has been quite dangerous at times.

Coro falls back, holds the ball and lay it up for Jackichand on the right flank. But, the Indian's cross is right into Gurpeet's hands.

With Edu missing for Goa's first team and Miku out of Bengaluru side, both the teams have lacked the edge up top. However, Goa have shown more intent for sure!

Udanta and Jahouh tussle for the ball before the Indian wins it. Jahouh goes for the slider but misses it before Udanta's pass is staright at Goa a player.

Hugo misses from point blank range!

Another chance for Goa here as Carlos pena goes up the left flank before putting in a grounded cross into the middle for Coro. He doesnt get a proper touch that sees the ball falling kindy to Hugo. He has the whole goal to aim at but he hits the onrushing goalie!

Bengaluru do well to mare the spaces in the midfield but their high backline was again a source of worry. Lenny put in a brilliant ball for Jackichand but Gurpreet collects it just in time.

That is horror defence by Mohammad Ali at the left defensive flank here! Udanta Singh wins the ball with ease and and puts in a delicious cross but the keeper is up to it who punches it away.

Goa try to et on the counter after Bengaluru lose the ball in the attacking third. Jackichand had Coro alongside him but he seemed to go for glory just ahead of the halfway line. The shot as feeble as it could be.

The visitors are pressing with a four-man line here although within their boundaries. They are not going above the last 30 yards of Goa's goal letting the hosts rotate the ball easily.

Fall tries to put in a long ball behind the defence for Jackichand Singh, but Nishu Kumar reads it well.

Goa start with a short back pass as Bengaluru focus on holding structure. But, a long diagonal ground pass is intercepted by Chehetri as Goa hurry to clear it!

Unarguably the best clash of the season so far, and not only as both the teams contend for the title, but also for the sheer talent both the teams have on paper. With the likes of Edu Bedia, and Corominas for Goa, and Sunil Chhetri and Miku for Bengaluru in red-hot form, this match promises a lot.

The ISL table doesn't reveal the true story in its current state for FC Goa and Bengaluru FC are miles ahead of all the other competitors in terms of tactics, form, and mindset. Hence, a clash between compatriots Sergio Lobera and Carles Cuadrat would exhibit in the truest sense where the ISL is heading. Playing on the home turf wouldn't be a huge advantage for Goa as such for their playing style has been constant and while it has been their biggest strength, it has also been their weakness as well.

Bengaluru FC, on the other hand, have shown character and resilience away from home with Cuadrat teaching his players to adapt to conditions more than imprinting their own style of play. It helped them massively against ATK in Kolkata and we expect the same from them today. However, Goa could score almost at will, something which wasn't the case against ATK, and Cuadrat would need to think twice before going for the kill.
