That's it for Chennaiyin! They ended the campaign as they had started it! Full of chances and optimism but no end product. John Gregory's future is still unknown but the English manager really couldn't be blamed for the missed chances by his forwards. The defending champions finish bottom of the table. 
Sergio Lobera would be lucky to go to the playoffs without any injury sustained to his important players.

Chance for Goa!!! That should have been finished by the hosts!!!

Lenny does well to run with the ball from the left flank before his cross from the far post is received by Manveer whose cross goes over Brandon's head in the middle of the box but the striker does well to win the ball as it deflects off to Lenny on the left post. The midfielder fails to control it and heads it wide.

That was it as the ref blows the whistle and Chennai's campaign comes to an end. 

CFC are seeing more of the ball in the last few minutes and while Krouch has come back on to the field, Goa can not defend with their tired legs. 

Lenny comes down on the left flank to put up a brilliant tackle as Augusto advances with the ball. Referee points towards a goal-kick and Lenny throws a fist in the air. 

Mailson brings down Brandon inside the box. Goa players shout but the ref is not interested. However, Brandon gets up quickly and chases Thapa who has the ball. His tackle from behind is rash and is booked.  

With Goa down to 10 men at the moment, there can not be a more opportune time for  CFC to get an equaliser.

This is bad news for Goa as Krouch has been one of the best player in the second half. He is being stretchered off the field and that might be the end of the season for him.

Five minutes added and CFC still have a genuine chance to get back into the game. 

Goa almost scores their second!!!

Brandon is released on the left flank and he finds Krouch at the other flank with a left-footed shot first time. Krouch blasts it wide but seems to have pulled his hamstring in the process. 

Goa's primary target is to keep the ball in CFC's half as much as possible and they are doing it very well. Meanwhile, Lenny gets a shot 25 yards away from goal going for glory. It is high and wide. 

Jahohu is at another level altogether compared to other midfielders. He shows that with a cheeky nutmeg on Thapa before he casually turns around to find a player on the right flank. 

Chance for Goa!!!

Manvir Singh and Brandon combine well for a throw at the left corner flag. However, Brandon's shot is wide at the far post. 

Chennai look to see a glimmer of hope in the last few minutes with Goa failing to capitalise on the early lead. There are as many as five Chennai players pressing high up for a goal but Goa somehow manages to evade it. 

Ali has been released on the right with a kick coming from the centre circle. However, he tries a long-range shot from the flank without much control and it goes out without causing any trouble for the goalkeeper here. 

Thoi Singh brings down Brandon just below the halfway line in his half. However, the resulting freekick sees the ball going out with no Goa player to contest. 

Manvir Singh comes on in place of Jacki now.

CFC win a corner from the right. A one-goal lead is still very slim. Thapa's floating ball sees Nelson getting his head before Naveen gets a slight touch. But, linesman gives it a goal-kick. 

Jacki wins a ball off Augusto and turns his way around before putting in a world class through ball at the far corner for Coro. Karanjit chases him down and the striker gets a wrong chip off the ball consequently. That is the pass of the match from Jacki.

Thoi Singh comes on for CFC as Vineeth has been taken off here.

Nelson is brought in the much-needed spark in the CFC team. He gets the ball on the left and does extremely well to escape Ali who is left-footed. However, his eventual isn't as appealing. 

That is a very dangerous tackle on Coro days before he is suppose to play in the playoffs. After Nelson's freekick is dealt easily by Goa, Tondonba comes in with a flying tackle to win the ball off Coro. The striker looks to be in pain and Tondonba is booked. 

Ali comes in with a rash tackle on Nelson and he is very lucky to escape a card. 

Nelson's corner was right into the middle aiming the towering Mailson. However, Fall does brilliantly to head it away to clear the ball. 

Goa are seemingly looking tired with Chennai looking dangerous with every move. This is their chance as Nelson wins a corner. 

Seriton comes off as Ali takes his place. 

Herd misses a sitter!!!

Thapa's freekick 35 yards out sees Sabia heading the ball inside the box with a glancing header. while Jeje and Vineeth struggle to win the ball it goes at the far post for Herd who just has a keeper to beat. He slices it up and out. 

Krouch now commits a foul by bringing down Herd and now he goes into the book as well. 

Issac comes off as Gregory Nelson takes his place. 

Augusto is booked for fouling Krouch just above the halfway line. Goa have done well to gain possession from Karanjit's long ball. 

CFC look to have lost their will at the moment with Goa keeping the ball so well. They have not seen an attack in last 5 to 7 minutes which is reflected in their recent half-hearted attempt as Naveen jumps to collect it up. 

Goa are tightening the screw up top here with Jacki and Coro almost winning the ball inside the box. Brandon gets the ball 25 yards out and is not hesitating to have a shot at the goal. However, it is wide. 

Substitution for Goa -

Brandon Fernandes has come on in place of Edu Bedia. 

That was the last move for Bedia as he tries to get an end of the one-touch with Coro. The midfielder was brilliant this evening. 

But, Issac will and Jacki wins the ball this time. His long ball up forward sees Sabia not getting the right touch on his head as Coro tries having a go at it. But, CFC fall back fast. 

Jacki is pressing up on the right flank hoping CFC would make an error but Augusto hardly makes one. 

Goa are moving on water now with every elegant trick on the book coming on perfectly for them. Edu Bedia plays a through ball for Krouch from the left who cuts into the box but eventually gives away the ball. 

CFC concede a corner after Mailson does brilliantly to stop a cross off Jacki. Goa looked really dangerous from the corner with Bedia's no look pass inside the box finding Jacki perfectly. However, he was flagged off-side. 

Chennai try to attack on the counter but the pass to Issac on the left is too strong as it goes out for a throw near the technical area. John Gregory kicks the ball in frustration. 

Goa get a freekick just above the halfway line and Jahohu's floating ball is right into Karanjeet's hands. It was aim at the far corner but was executed very poorly there. 

CFC have looked more proactive in the second half so far as compared to the first 45 minutes however Goa's defence have been solid enough to keep Chennai at bay. 

Goa look dangerous with yet another ball on the counter. Bedia plays a lovely through ball for Jacki in the midfield. It is three against two for the Gaurs as Jacki tries to find Gama on the left with a floating ball. However, the youngster fails to control the ball as Mailson wins it.

After Goa deal well with the first corner kick, CFC come really close with their second one. A long corner inside the box sees Mailson heading the ball down. Jeje has to aim the ball backwards with his head but he couldn't. It was very difficult to execute it anyway. 

Vineeth is released inside the box and this time, the striker shows real urgency to chase it. However, just as he stops the ball Krouch comes and clears the ball for a corner.

Seriton fouls Herd from behind and the Goa player goes into referee's book with a yellow card to his name. 

Another long ball and another chance for the Gaurs. Krouch gets it inside the box but Mailson was alive to the danger to clear it off as Goa misses another chance. 

The Gaurs start the proceedings in the second half of the game here as they build another attack from the right flank. Seriton finds Jacki outside the box but his direct attempt to go for glory goes over the crossbar. 

Half Time

This half could pretty much sum up Chennaiyin FC's entire season. They knew exactly how Goa would be attacking and still they are now a goal behind owing to a defensive error. They could have gone up by at least two goals had their strikers taken the chances, but they didn't and the task after the break would be all the more difficult.
We only hope John Gregory leaves with happy memories.

That was almost suicidal by Goa. Lenny loses the ball to Augusto 30 yards from goal as the Brazilian goes up with a through ball for Jeje. He releases it to his right inside the box for Thapa who just has to control it and take a shot. However, just before he will take his shot, Fall comes flying in to deflect the ball for a corner. 

Nothing happens with the corner for the visitors and the ref blows his whistle for half-time. 

The first half has been pretty monotonous for both the sides with the only difference being Goa taking their chances. 

One minute added

Things are getting heated up for the CFC players here. Augusto brings down Bedia right in the middle and Goa players are not happy. 

Vineeth is played a through ball inside the box by Issac. The ball looked to be very much in his control but he didn't bother to run for it. 

An audacious attempt by Bedia comes to an end. Naveen's long ball saw Krouch winning the ball before he passes to Coro, who plays a through ball to Bedia on his right. Bedia has his teammates to cross to but he goes for glory. 

Mailson tries playing a long ball up top for Jeje. However, the striker is outmuscled by the Goa's defence. 

CFC win a freekick high up in the field where Gama brings down Augusto. Issac's cross is at the far post but Herd dramatically falls down giving away a throw. 

Edu Bedia's corner kick is defended well by the visitors as they go on a counter. However, Thapa's through ball is too much for Vineeth as the ball goes out for a throw.  

Krouch's freekick is hard and low into the box and CFC struggle to deal with it before Herd clears it out for a corner. 

Jacki gets the ball on the right flank and he has three teammates inside the box to aim. His cross is not bad as Krouch doesn't jump high enough to reach it. Bedia goes to collect the ball but he is fouled by Vineeth in the process near the left corner flag. 

Goa keep possession in their own half near the halfway line. CFC press high but they are afraid to commit more men up front. 

Krouch brings down Vineeth near the halfway line and CFC gets a freekick. However, the visitors failed again to make it count and they had to go all the way back to Karanjeet to build up again for an attack. 

Another chance for the visitors goes in-vain as Jeje takes too much time to execute the shot from Augusto's pass. This has pretty much summed up the first half today. 

A genuine chance for Chennai as Thapa finds himself running inside the box with no pressure whatsoever. The winger places it for Issac to shoot but Goa defenders are fast in closing him down. 

The problem with CFC have been their inability to change their gear at will. Goa, on the other hand, have done that well. 

A similar looking attack by the home side as Coro releases Seriton inside the box. Had he not been checked by a CFC defender, it was a clear goal. However, Goa will still settle for a corner.  

Chennai have to be very careful about not conceding a rapid second goal here. It almost happens with Gama winning the ball of Herd 30 yards from goal. CFC, however, clear it. 

GOAL FOR GOA - CORO

How can CFC consider goal when they know from the very first minute what Goa are going to do???

Jahohu's long pass inside the box sees Jacki controlling well before his cut back sees the ball falling into Coro's feet. He just has to score as Sabia's last ditch tackle goes in-vain. 

Goa play some marvellous passing football in the middle between Coro, Krouch and Jacki. However, the move ends with Seriton fouling for no reason at all. 

Jahohu tries a long ball from the back for Krouch to chase. But, Chennai's defence is well aware of it as the ball goes to the goalkeeper. Clearly, the flanks are not been working for the Gaurs. 

Chance for Chennaiyin!!!

Though CFC fails to make anything out of the corner they manage to retain the ball above the halfway line. A long ball from the back inside the box sees Augusto heading it towards Jeje to chest it down and score. He tries exactly that but fails.  

Chennai hover around the Goa box for long with no openings whatsoever. They keep exchanging passes before Vineeth's cross is deflected out for a corner. 

A real chance for Goa as Coro finally gets the ball at the edge of the box. He does well to cut it past Tondonba but his eventual shot is low and weak into Karanjit's hands. 

Issac gets the ball in the attacking third as he does well to hold on with it letting his players to fall up. He passes it to Tondonba whose first-time left-footed cross into the box saw Jeje almost getting the ball. However, he had many Goa players surrounded. 

Augusto goes into one of his solo runs in the midfield as he goes past Lenny and Jahohu before playing a one touch with Vineeth. However, his eventual shot is deflected out for a corner. But, Chennai fail to make the most of it. 

Young Saviour Gama brings down Vineeth 35 yards out from goal. The challenge was unnecessary and reflects his inexperience.  

Goa's plan to keep Coro and Jacki up top is largely dependent on pace. However, CFC's deep back line means finding spaces behind the defence will be very tough with Mailson and Sabia winning every tackle. 

Goa have to be more physical while defending against this Chennai team. They are out of the playoffs this season but they do have players who can dominate physically. Augusto's pass into the attacking third sees Viineeth holding up his marker before squaring up to Thapa. Thapa releases Jeje on the left inside the box before making his way to the centre, but the striker's left-footed shot is right into Naveen's hands. 

Vineeth has been getting a lot of space to cut inside the midfield and find his man, but creation has never been the striker's strongest suit. He is visibly struggling. 

Good movement by CFC as a long ball up top sees Jeje heading it down for Vineeth after seeing off Fall. Vineeth squares it off to Issac in the midfield, but the midfielder's diagonal pass goes out for a throw to Goa. 

Jahohu tries to find Seriton on the right flank but the ball goes for a throw again. Today will be the real test for the midfielder who will have tweak his range to adjust to the new position. 

Jeje is seen being supported by Thapa and Issac in pressing high at the Goa's defence. Vineeth has surprisingly taken on a more conservative role so far. 

CFC have started to pull strings now. After Jeje was released at the left flank that Goa managed to defend successfully, it was now Vineeth who was found at the edge of the box. However, he lacked the physicality to deal with it. 

Jahohu is playing as a centre-half for Goa today. The midfielder has often been seen falling back to that position during the game but starting in that position won't be easy for the visionary. 

Given the way midfielders have positioned at the centre of the park, long balls looks to be the last resort for both the teams. After Jacki, CFC try finding Thapa up top who makes a solo run. However, Goa get it back.

Goa keep the tempo of the game very slow with a long ball up top finds Jacki open. However, Tondonba rushes back to clear it for a throw. 

Elisabia tries to find CK Vineeth with a long ball from the back. The striker heads it on to the left flank hoping that Renthlei will get to it. It had no touch on it as CFC concedes a throw and Goa regroup. 

It is Goa's turn to attack now as they keep the ball at the back before Lenny tries to find Seriton at the far right flank. However, Goa concedes a throw-in.

Chennaiyin FC start the game here. A long ball from the back for CK Vineeth but Chinglensana controls the ball and heads it straight to Naveen Kumar.

The coin toss is done with FC Goa winning it and the visitors will kick us off this evening.

The teams are out in the middle and it's time for the Indian National Anthem before the start of the game.

Hello and Welcome to yet another ISL game between FC Goa and Chennayin FC coming to you from the Nehru Stadium at Fatorda, Goa. A good game of football is expected as Goa will try to get back to winning ways before the semi-finals while the defending champions will play for pride against the Gaurs today.

FC  Goa and Chennaiyin FC will meet each other in today’s game at Nehru Stadium in Goa with both the teams looking to end the league stage on a high. The Chennai-baed team will look forward to play for some pride in today’s encounter while Goa will have a good statement to make before the playoffs. 

There is nothing much to get out from today’s game as far as the points table and the playoffs qualification in the fifth edition of the ISL is concerned but the home team Goa will look forward to prepare well before the start of the semi-final stage of the tournament. Although they are out of the tournament now, the defending champions enjoy a good record of 6-5 in head to head battles against the Gaurs. Coming out of the 3-0 defeat against Bengaluru FC, Sergio Lobera will want his side to showcase something positive in today’s game. But, he is expected to make a few changes by resting some of the regular players for the home game today.

With the Gaurs playing at their home, Chennaiyin will want to make some statement before finishing their campaign in this edition of the league. Since their win in the last season, the team from Chennai had performed poorly in the competitive matches but will want to get a result in their favour before bowing out of the league this year. A victory here will give John Gregory’s side some confidence going into the AFC Cup qualifier.
