And that was the Premier League.

What a way to end the final Premier League game before a two week international break and I feel almost sad saying goodbye. That game was so bloody marvellous that we'll have daydreams, dreams and just simply think about it for the next two weeks.

Especially that Mohamed Salah goal. This dude is gooooooood. But that's the way the cookie crumbles, so until next time this is goodbye, goodnight and arrivederci.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola: "What a game. That is the reason the last years Man City and Liverpool were always there because we try to play in this way. Unfortunately we couldn't win - but we didn't lose.

"That's why the Premier League is the best [that it could go either way]. It was great, really great."

On Phil Foden: "Phil is a special player we know it. he came back from the national team injured, he is a fantastic player - but not just him, everyone was fantastic."

On whether James Milner should have been showed a second yellow card: "It's a yellow card. It's a yellow card. It's clear. It's Anfield, it's Old Trafford. In our situation a City player is sent off. It's too much clear. It was a second yellow."

On the result: "It is what it is. The result is the result and we cannot change it. I know how difficult it is against these players and this manager. Every time it is incredible challenge for us.

"The way we played at Stamford Bridge, in Paris and today shows we are a great team. When we lose the way we play in Paris [against Paris St-Germain] and draw today it is good. I pray we continue and player come back from their national teams safe."

On a reported incident involving a Liverpool supporter and a member of City's backroom staff: "I don't know. I heard something nasty said from the crowd to our staff. Liverpool will take measures. Liverpool is much greater than this person.

"It is certain people. It is an honour to come here. The way they support the team is great, that's why it is Anfield."

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp: "Thank god a football game has two halves. We are really happy about the second and not so happy about the first for obvious reasons. We did a lot of things wrong in the first half and City did a lot of things right in the first half so we never got really in the game.

"We weren't much worse, we never played enough football. I was most happy in my career about the half-time whistle. It was never planned that we played like this and we needed half-time and we used half-time and played a really good second half.

"Man City with the ball is a proper team. There are ways to defend it. They had chances clear but they didn't score from that. It gives you a really bad feeling which leads to not playing football. We had long balls which didn't make sense.

"All these things we changed in the second half immediately. We were now in the game and scored wonderful goals with the ball. The message was to play the extra pass. We didn't do that in the first half at all. Do we want to win a game like this?

"Yes. We have to admit today the point is completely fine."

On Salah's goal: "Both were pretty good. The biggest chance we didn't use. I have no idea how Rodri blocked the ball. For me the ball was in, but it's all fine. If Leo Messi ior Cristiano Ronaldo score that goal then the world says yes because it's world class. He (Salah) is one of the best players in the world, that's how it is."

On if Milner was lucky to stay on the pitch: "Pep got a little bit outraged over that. I didn't see but I saw Pep's reaction obviously but I didn't know exactly why he did that. Milly did incredibly well first half and it is not easy to defend these guys."

Manchester City's Phil Foden: "It's very difficult to come here with the fans. It's one of the most difficult grounds to come to and we dealt with it really well today.

"It had it all. It was end-to-end at times. I twa such a brilliant game and we stuck in there to the end. We're happy to get the draw and on another day we could have took the three points. It was disappointing not to go in at half time ahead but we kept the momentum when we came out in the second half and we dug in there.

On James Milner's foul: "I'm an honest guy. I don't like to go down when I get fouled. I like to stay on my feet and be honest. It happens and it's football and we dealt with it well."

On coming from behind twice: "It shows our character. We've not won here a lot but we carried on playing football when we went behind and didn;t look bothered and played really well today."

On his goal: "There wasn't a lot of room to put it across goal so I pitmy laces through it and hoped for the est and was happy to see it go in the back of the net."

Liverpool's Jordan Henderson: "We're a little bit unlucky not to come away with the three points I think. We weren't pressing in the right way in the first half. We started OK but after the first 10 minutes we couldn't get at them as much as we would like. I felt we did that in the second half."

On Mo Salah's goal: "It was incredible. He just kept beating players and he's deadly in those positions. Unfortunately it wasn't the winner."

On the result: "I think we're disappointed overall. We can be better in the first half and then last 10 minutes, 2-1 up we should see the game out. Positives to take though City are a good team and it's a tough fixture but a little bit of disappointment overall."

Fantastic game of football. I’ve not thought about it enough to say if it’s the best I’ve been to but it might be my favourite. It was just a bit mad. City excellent for the most part, Liverpool so dangerous and never to be underestimated, City also showing resilience. Superb

The two managers embrace after what was an absolutely incredible game of football. No goals for the first sixty odd minutes and then, the floodgates were hammered open. Four goals, four absolutely beautiful goals in their own right and the game still ends level. That was...

Corner for Manchester City and the away side have sent everyone but Ederson into the middle.

Kevin De Bruyne is over it, he sends it right towards the near post where Robertson clears his lines and the defenders wonder why..

This game is beautifully poised right now as the two sides battle it out in midfield. Turnover vs turnover in the words of Jim Beglin and the man is absolutely right.

Raheem Sterling is flying, and flying and flying but Liverpool react and crowd out their former star, he dinks it towards Jesus on the far right and the man volleys it into Robertson.

The rebound is moved all the way back but that was a blistering break.

Football, huh? Bloody hell. I'm still reeling from that Mohamed Salah goal.

Bloody hell. That was simply sensational from Rodri, about as good as a goal that if not better.

Why? Because Fabinho had an open goal to shoot at but Rodri read it and made the move.

BLOODY HELL, WHAT A BLOCK. WHAT A MOTHERCLUCKING BLOCK!!

The free-kick was played short, Salah dinks it into the middle, it flies through the crowd, Fabinho had to tap it in but Rodri absolutely flings himself in the way and blocks it away. Fabinho is stunned and has his hands on his head, wondering how he didn't put that home.

Kevin De Bruyne will take that all day long and he started it with a stunning diagonal towards Phil Foden on the far left. He drove into the box, waited for Kyle Walker and then fizzed the cross towards him.

An interception, or a backheel, sent the ball loose towards the edge of the box and the Belgian takes a touch, before curling the ball into the net. Replays show that Alisson had it covered until a deflection off Joel Matip sent it beyond him.

So in the aftermath of that goal both Pep Guardiola and Bernardo Silva were booked for something or the other. Saying a lot of words says the commentators.

That was about as perfect as it gets. So picture this, Mohamed Salah has just gotten the ball on the far right, and is enveloped by Manchester City players. Three or four of them but it matters not as the Egyptian wiggles past Cancelo, then drags it past Silva, drops Laporte to the ground, drives towards the byline and hammers it home. F****** A.

You can see the steam erupt from Pep Guardiola's ears and nose at the moment. This man is so pissed off that saying he's pissed off might be an understatement.

Pep Guardiola is enraged that Milner wasn't given a yellow card there and blows his top off at fourth official Mike Dean.

Bernardo Silva decides to go on another one of his mazy runs, drives past Firmino and suddenly has Jordan Henderson and James Milner up against him. The Portuguese magician rolls the ball past Milner and is clattered to the floor by the right-back's outstretched foot.

Yellow...nope, no card for Milner.

This game has become lit in the second half. Isn't that what the young kids say?

Manchester City really don't need a striker especially if Phil Foden continues to finish like that because that was absolutely perfect. Any striker would be proud.

He makes absolutely no mistake after a delicious Manchester City move but the finish, the finish was downright nasty from Foden. The attacker has collected the ball down the inside left, took one single touch and absolutely scythed the ball into the far right corner.

Second half shot count, anyone?

3 on goal for Liverpool, 1 on goal for Manchester City.

But it matters not because...

Change for Liverpool...

Diogo Jota is off and replaced by Robert Firmino.

Gabriel Jesus drops a shoulder and tries to find the far right corner from the left but Milner does ever so well to block the effort and Alisson mops up.

That is Manchester City's first shot.....in the second half.

Terrible free-kick though because Liverpool defend that at ease, Manchester City try to work it back into the middle but the hosts press them effectively and get it back.

Change for Manchester City...

Yellow card for Diogo Jota after he goes in hard on Kevin De Bruyne. The stoppage will allow Manchester City to make their change.

Boos surround Anfield and we know who is about to come on for Manchester City.

James Milner plays the corner short, Jones to Henderson back to Milner and his cross is bounced out by Kevin De Bruyne. Hoicked downfield, Liverpool have it back and they'll do it all over again.

MOHAMED SALAHHHHH AND IT'S JUST WIDE..

And that's a corner because the ball took the slightest touch off the wall.

Free-kick for Liverpool and this is a good spot for a shot.

The ball has been placed just right off center with it about 26 yards out from goal and Liverpool have three over this.

Things are entirely different now because Manchester City have been squeezed and manoeuvred across the field so much better now by Liverpool. A tale of two halves indeed.

Yellow card for Joao Cancelo and Liverpool have a free-kick on the far right. 

Milner over this, he whips it into the middle, Van Dijk knocks it on and Jota loops his header into Ederson's hands, which means that will count as a shot on target.

Ten minutes into this second half and already, Liverpool have been so much better. That's not saying much given their first half performance but still.

Free-kick for Liverpool on the far right and they've got two over this.

Milner whips it towards the far right, Ederson flies out and boxes, Jones collects and dinks it over for Mo Salah but Ederson collects and looks to set City flying on the break.

Manchester City had a left sided bias in that first half, attacking mainly down Liverpool's right and thus causing James Milner a few problems via Phil Foden. It meant that Gabriel Jesus had very little to do and is thus cutting a frustrated figure right now.

SOOOOO MUCH BETTER BUT THAT'S A SUPER STOP FROM EDERSON!!!

Matip with a gorgeous 20 yard fizzing pass into Diogo Jota, he spins on the move and hammers a shot right at goal but he can't quite direct it either side of Ederson. So much better from Liverpool who have already upped their game.

Way better from Liverpool as Henderson nicks it off Rodri, Diogo Jota collects the loose ball and the Reds are off. Jota has Mane and Salah either side, opts to chop back onto his right foot but Dias reacts superbly to pick Jota's pocket.

Better from Liverpool as they work it across Manchester City, Henderson slides it down the outside right for Milner but his cross is smashed right into Ederson.

That first half wasn't good for Liverpool, was it? You can't really say the same for Manchester City but even then, the Cityzens never hit the target and that is what needs to change.

PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!! BACK FOR THE SECOND HALF..

Manchester City get the ball rolling again and neither boss has made a half-time change.

Espanyol beat Real Madrid for only the second time in TWENTY FIVE YEARS!! What a poor week for Real Madrid...and three weeks until their next league game which is El Clasico.

Some bits of magic from City players as the half went on, but overall the technical quality from both sides was so low there. Bad touches, misplaced passes, terrible crosses/shots.

HALF-TIME AND SOMEHOW, THIS IS STILL LEVEL...

Manchester City have absolutely whupped Liverpool, who have done absolutely nothing since the third minute of this game. Phil Foden has had the run of the field, Bernardo Silva has been superb and Kevin De Bruyne had a chance to end this game. Half-time...

BIG CHANCE FOR MANCHESTER CITY!!!

A lovely pass towards Phil Foden, the youngster has been running rings around Liverpool and bursts into the area after Ederson's ball but Alisson reacts superbly to stop him running around him with an outstretched leg.

Free-kick for Manchester City on the far left and they've got two over this in the form of Jack Grealish and Phil Foden.

The latter takes it, whips a lovely cross across the Liverpool area but nobody in blue even reacted for some absurd reason.

Yellow card for James Milner after Phil Foden rips past him and the veteran drags the youngster down.

The fans are becoming impatient now as they watch Manchester City string together more than 2192 passes together. It's quite a pretty run of passing but Liverpool have no answer.

This is a lot like that Chelsea game with Manchester City absolutely battering Liverpool 0-0 and I'm shocked at how the score is still 0-0.

A lot like that Bayern Munich win over Barcelona in the Champions League.

Final nine minutes of normal time in the first half and Liverpool are playing safe, but at the same time are making more than their fair share of sloppy, really sloppy, passes. City on the other hand, have switched things up and seem to be slicing open the Reds time after time.

CHANCE FOR MANCHESTER CITY!!!

Incredible easy for City to work this, Phil Foden collects the ball on the far left, whips a dangerous cross towards the back-post and Kevin De Bruyne flies in with a diving header. His attempt flies into the far reaches of the Anfield stands and looking at the replay, he should have done better there.

Pep Guardiola and Phil Foden are naturally still pissed off, but even if that was given it was never a penalty with the contact outside the box. Still, there is bound to be contact in a contact sport and that was said contact.

Phil Foden is sent flying down the outside left, James Milner is labouring to get there and does with a body check on the young attacker.....and the referee says go on. Play moves on and replays show that there was nothing in that from Milner. Just your usual contact in a contact sport.

I hate to say this but Liverpool feel almost out of sync and out of sorts at the moment. Really not sure what's up with the Reds but they haven't gotten going yet. Just the one shot on goal and that was well well off target.

Both coaches are gesticulating on the sidelines with Jurgen Klopp having a go at Alisson for what I can only assume has been his terrible goal-kicks so far.

Corner for Liverpool, Robertson whips this in, De Bruyne nods it clear and the Reds will try to do it all over again.

Yellow card for Ruben Dias after he drags Diogo Jota to the ground, while falling down himself, and Andy Robertson will take this.

He proceeds to swing it right into Ederson's hands.

All Manchester City at the moment and Jurgen Klopp has to be pissed off. The away side are playing and slicing his defense open the way he wants his side to do to the away side.

Manchester City have come to the party as Cancelo produces a delightful pass for De Bruyne, it's not an easy chance but the Belgian hooks it wide anyway. Think he may have meant that as a cross instead but nobody was getting there, especially with the power he put behind that.

It is now raining where I am and that means....yup, my Tv has gone. Switching to a stream.

Bloody hell, that is glorious. Bernardo Silva dances past one, then another and then a third defender before sliding Phil Foden down the inside left channel.

The chip was on for the young midfielder but he smashes it at Alisson, who has flown out, and the Brazilian smothers the effort. Marvellous stuff from Bernardo Silva.

Boring game? Nah man, this is anything but with it a battle of minds between arguably two of the best managers available in modern football right now.

Poor pass out from Alisson, he hands it right to Bernardo Silva who slides it forward for Grealish but the attacker's cross is blocked.

The corner is taken quickly, Grealish finds De Bruyne about 30 yards out and he dinks the ball over for Phil Foden who skews his header wide. The midfielder was caught between a pass and a shot there but was well off when the ball was played. No flag though.

Something exciting as Joao Cancelo produces a gorgeous outside of the boot pass down the outside left, Jack Grealish flies into the space before playing the overlapping Silva through.

He dinks a cross towards the far right post, Jesus attempts to head it out but Robertson gets there first and clears it for a corner. The resulting set-piece comes to nowt.

Exhilarating contests have been sucessfully held in the past between both these teams but tonight, the onus is on defending and playing good, solid football. No wonder why especially since a win, for Liverpool, will push them to the top and a win, by two goals for City, will do the same.

After spending the opening twelve odd minutes defending really deep and showing Liverpool a whole lotta respect, Manchester City are now back to their old ways.

By that, I mean a lot of sterile passing inside their own half while Liverpool run around and attempt to press them down.

Neither side has really grabbed control of the game so far with it a very chaotic and frantic football game especially with nearly every area really crowded. It hasn't helped that these are two very good teams that are trying to play perfect footy and that means getting everything right.

Not exactly the Manchester City performance we all expected to see with the Cityzens playing things safe in the opening minutes. Why? Really not sure but they're being absurdly patient and taking their own cool time to play football.

Corner for Liverpool, it's swung into the middle but Manchester City clear their lines, Liverpool work it back into the mixer, Foden clears and finds De Bruyne, he overcooks his pass towards Jack Grealish and Liverpool do it again. This time, Manchester City play out calmly and slowly.

Half chances to create a chance at either end but while James Milner's cross is eventually hoicked downfield, Manchester City overcook the diagonal from the right, aimed towards Cancelo.

This has been a really rapid start from both sides..

High octane start from both with no real chances or shots in the final third at either end. There is determination and a little more intent though as compared to the earlier games but still, we're yet to see a proper shot on goal.

For those wondering, Jack Grealish is playing down the middle right now with Phil Foden wide left and Gabriel Jesus playing wide right. 

Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva are just behind the trio.
