India’s top women’s archer Deepika Kumari completed her Archery World Cup campaign in style as she claimed three gold medals to maintain a perfect record in the tournament. The Tokyo-bound archer and former World no. 1, clinched top honours in the women's individual,'s team, and mixed team event

The Indian women’s archery team failed to secure a berth for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics after they were handed a dismal 0-6 loss by their Colombian competitors in the final qualification event, in Paris. As things stand, Deepika Kumari will be the sole female representative from India at the Olympics.

The Indian Archery Team will miss out on the upcoming World Cup Stage 2, in Lausanne, after the Swiss Embassy rejected to issue the athletes short-term visas, owing to the travel ban imposed on Indian travellers to the country. So far, four India archers have qualified for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

The Archery Association of India (AAI) is hopeful that the travel restrictions would be lifted by the time the World Cup Stage 3 gets underway in Paris, in June. The Indian women's recurve team, a contender for a medal at the Olympic Games, are aiming to book a berth during the same event.
