In what can be called a sweet reciprocation of sorts, the lanky Hyderabadi lass exacted the revenge with a kind of performance that could only be termed riotous. Dominating the match from the word go, Sindhu won the points for fun and never did seem out of sorts. By eventually closing it on with 21-7, 21-7, Sindhu ended her long search for a gold medal and became the first Indian shuttler to win a Gold at the BWF World Championships.
