PV Sindhu defeated Nozomi Okuhara and created history by winning India's first-ever gold at BWF World Championships. The Olympics silver medalist had a great tournament as she got better off some of the greatest shuttlers like Tai Tzu Ying and Chen Yu Fei. Indian fans on Twitter reacted on the same.

In 2017, the duo had played out one final for ages as after pushing each other to the limits, Nozomi Okuhara had come out triumphant against the Indian. In what can be called a sweet reciprocation of sorts, the lanky Hyderabadi lass exacted the revenge with a kind of performance that could only be termed riotous. Dominating the match from the word go, Sindhu won the points for fun and never did seem out of sorts. By eventually closing it on with 21-7, 21-7, Sindhu ended her long search for a gold medal and became the first Indian shuttler to win a Gold at the BWF World Championships.

Yesssssss!
