The Indian under 17 women’s football team has beaten the Hong Kong under 23 women’s side by a score of 5-1 in the first game at the Hong Kong FA Centre on Friday. India's Priyanka, Shilky, Kiran, Sumati, and Astam scored in the opening game of the girls' exposure tour to Hong Kong.

India started off on a great note against Hong Kong with Priyanka finding the back of the net as early as the second minute of the game. With an early lead, India had an opportunity to double it a few minutes later but Niramala couldn't manage to tap the ball in after getting a good pass from the midfield.

Although Hong Kong managed to equalise soon in the first half, India got back in lead in the 21st minute through Shilky. A couple of minutes later, India failed to score again as Sumati’s shot on target was saved by the opposition custodian. A couple of minutes before the end of the first half, Kiran managed to find the back of the net to take India to a 3-1 lead at the half-time break.

India looked stronger after the interval and it was Sumati who struck a goal off a rebound from the Hong Kong keeper to give India its fourth goal of the match in the 49th minute. The fifth goal of the game for India came through Astam in the 58th minute of the match and Hong Kong was no match for the Indian girls in the second half.

After registering a comfortable win against the under 23 national side of Hong Kong in the first game, the Indian girls will now take on professional club Tai Po in their second match of the exposure trip to Hong Kong tomorrow.
