Nick Kyrgios retired from his first-round match at Wimbledon due to a hip injury after losing the first two sets to Pierre-Hugues Herbert 6-3, 6-4. However, the Twitterati hardly showed any sympathy and had some fun at the Aussie's expence after his second retirement in as many tournaments.

Kyrgios, who was visibly uncomfortable from the beginning of the match, wore long white leggings under his shorts and spent most of the first set trying to flex and stretch his leg. His lack of concentration forced him to make a double fault in the eighth game, which gave Herbert the break, which resulted in the Frenchman closing out the opening set.

The injury took a severe toll in the second set as he struggled to move freely across the court, something that the 70th-ranked Frenchman capitalized on as he provided the first upset of the tournament. But just at the end of the second set, the injury got the better of the Australian and he had to opt for a medical timeout. He spent several minutes speaking to the doctor before informing Herbert about the retirement.

"Probably get an MRI tomorrow," Kyrgios was quoted as saying by ESPN. "Hopefully get an injection or something, do rehab, and get healthy, I guess. I can't really do anything. You know, it's just a bit unlucky what happened. I mean, yeah, there's worse things in the world."

Here are some of the Tweets:

Not only Kyrgios, but Spurs were heavily trolled too

We all thought that too

Well you can't blame him for that

However, Kyrgios received sympathy and support from some fans

And some took this opportunity to take a dig at Bernard Tomic
