India’s Ankita Bhakat was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the individual women’s recurve event at the ongoing Archery World Championships. The Indian contingent ended the championships with three silver medals to their name – in the women’s team, mixed team and women’s individual events.

Indian compound archer Surekha Jyoti Vennam ended the Archery World Championships with three silver medals to her name, having claimed the individual second place finish, on Saturday. Vennam lost to Colombian Sara Lopez to claim a silver medal finish in the individual event of the championships.

The young Indian archery team, sans the Tokyo Olympians -- Atanu Das, Pravin Jadhav, Tarundeep Rai and Deepika Kumari -- has been in decent form in the World Championships in USA. Abhishek Verma and Jyothi Vennam impressed in the compound events and are placed seventh and sixth, respectively.
